When Was the Last Time You Had a Physical?

June 11, 2011

Here at LH2 we believe that everyone should take care of themselves from the inside out; there is only so much we can do with hair, make up, and clothes. Eventually, the abuse we inflict on ourselves internally (bad eating, smoking, heavy drinking, drugs, not enough rest, etc.) will show up on our faces, our hair, our waistlines – you get the picture. But just in case you don’t, check out these before and afters. Although the pictures you see are extreme, they are real. Take health care into your own hands Learn More
Now don’t get me wrong, french fries and potato chips are the ultimate in comfort food for me-please don’t forget the hot sauce. And a good vin rouge is a great way to close out the week. However, moderation is a key factor for enjoying those things that just simply taste so darn good.

Unfortunately, many of us still do not take the time to see our doctor for that yearly physical. Ever heard that saying, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure? Well it’s true. Caught early, many conditions that plague our community are curable and /or controllable.  We just wait entirely too late. What is late? When we are completely exhausted most of the time, when we’ve been inexplicably losing weight, when we’ve felt that lump in our breast for months – and that’s assuming we’ve been conducting monthly self-checks, or what about that gas issue that’s been hanging around for…hmm, can’t remember.

The Healthy Woman - Easy to understand information from the nation's leaders in women's health - Available to Order Now!In the coming weeks, LH2 will begin our In to Out Health Series. We will interview various health professionals, from internal medicine to mental health, and also those wonderful folks who have the talent to enhance our natural, beautiful selves.

So to start off, here are two charts – one for the ladies and one for the gents. Look at them, print them, pass them on to your circle, show someone you care. These charts are a guideline, a tool to help you in your quest to good health.

LH2 is also cooking up a little something to celebrate the transformation into healthy wholeness. So stay tuned for details…(hint, another contest but BIG).
