Eat Healthy, Look Healthy

Eat Healthy, Look Healthy!

Do you remember that promise LH2 made about bringing a lot of different things to you? Well, it is that time and what better way to start than with the stuff we can most easily control. The things we eat.  Now, a lot of people will run with a ton of excuses about way they CAN’T control what they eat, like eating healthy is too expensive. NOT TRUE.  Also, consider what it really costs you to eat the bad stuff. The pay off of eating the things the body needs and likes, believe it or not is well worth it.  For those that just don’t have the time to make big changes right now, don’t fret! We have some tips for you -the small stuff that doesn’t take a lot of time but makes a lot of difference.

Farmer’s Market Season

It’s that time of year where Farmer’s Markets are in a parking lot near you! Check around the interwebs and find a Farmer’s Market near you.  Here, you can get fresh veggies, fruit and even hormone free milk! It is usually very inexpensive as well because the Farmer’s are local, making sure the overhead cost to bring out their organically grown treats isn’t transferred to you.

Yummy Fruit, Gorgeous Skin

Blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and plums.  All yummy and all good for your skin! All of these berries (and the plum, ha!) are high in antioxidant content. They actually weigh in with the HIGHEST antioxidant capacity, according to the Journal of Agricultural Food and Chemistry.1 Guess where you can get this yumminess freshly picked, inexpensive and organically grown. You’ve got it! The Farmer’s Market! You can eat these treats alone or in smoothies you make, after all who doesn’t like a fruit smoothie?

The simplest things – H2O

Water.  Yes, WATER! No one can deny how beautiful hydrated skin looks. All of the oils and lotions in the world cannot live up to its worth without the person wrapped in that skin taking in some water.  To many, it’s just not that tasty and that’s fine.  Throw in a little fruit for some flavor.  Watermelon is good fruit to throw in a pitcher of water.  Tastes yummy and doesn’t have tons of ridiculous sugars.  There are many other fruits that can make water even more tasty.  Try it out and let your skin (and pockets, as no one could call water expensive) feel good!

A recipe for send off!

Now that you have a few inexpensive tips along with how they will benefit that precious epidermis, here is a simple recipe to combine a few things for a nice yummy summer treat.
